Six Months!

Hello! I am six months old now (half of a year!). Mommy says I am growing way too fast, but I am having so much fun discovering everything around me. I love to play with cell phones and remote controls and of course jewelry (I am a little lady you know). At my check up last week I weighed in at 19 lbs and 1 oz and I was 27 inches long! I have a new toy called a jumparoo that I LOVE to jump in! It is so fun!

Beautiful, Wonderful, Perfect All-American Girl

Yesterday was my first July Fourth ever! Mommy got me a cute stars and stripes outfit to wear and I managed to go all day without messing it up. We went to Maw Maw and Paw Paw Luker's to eat lunch. My cousin Mandi had her Pomeranian, Molly, there and I thought she was the most amazing thing I'd ever seen. I just wanted to love on her and pull her hair. I think Molly might be a little scared of me now though. Mommy and Daddy took me to see Grandaddy Van and I laughed some more when he made the kitty chase the little laser light. I went to bed early because I was so tired and I slept all night too! I went to sleep before it was dark enough for fireworks, but that's just one more first that Mommy and Daddy have to look forward to with me :)

Father's Day

Daddy and I had our first Father's Day together and it was a very fun day if I do say so myself! Mommy and I woke Daddy up with cards and presents. We ate lunch at Maw Maw and Paw Paw Luker's and then went to see Grandaddy Van for some good supper! We went swimming there too and I swam until 8:00! I was so tired when we got home that I just laid my head on daddy and went to sleep went he got me out of the car seat. Mommy thinks this picture is super sweet!

On the Road Again

Hey everyone. It's Audrey again. I'm back in the mountains with Mommy and Daddy and my Great-Granparents who I think are really GREAT! Yesterday they took me to the lake to see the ducks, but I napped in the van instead. I did get out of the van when Mommy and Daddy pulled up in their boat from fishing. Then we came home and played. My PawPaw got a watermelon that so far I've had fun playing with. I can't wait to get a bite of it when they cut it open! I like sitting in the backyard and swinging or rocking on the front porch. It is so pretty here and I'm so glad I get the rest of the week up here in the mountains!

Five Months

Hello everyone! Audrey here. Mommy and Daddy can't believe that I am five months old already! I am learning so many new things lately. I've started to reach for things that I want like my bottle and any cell phone within reach. I have a new book with crinkly pages and a mirror that fascinates me. I'm trying to cut a tooth so I haven't been a happy camper for Mommy and Daddy this week, but I know they understand. When my little tooth is itching me, I like to chew on my fingers and of course popsicles, although I'm just not too fond of those darn teething rings. Mommy and Daddy have started taking me to church which I really like because I get lots and lots of attention! I have started sleeping ALL night off and on...I'm trying to help Mom and Dad out a little bit.

Matching :)

Mommy found a dress for Audrey that matches her new summer dress....Mommy was oh so excited that she and Audrey can match now!

Pulling Up

The past week or so Audrey has really been trying to sit up on her own. If you lay her on her Boppy pillow she will pick her head up and pick her body up just as far as she can trying to sit up. She's decided she is a big girl.....no more laying down all the time for Audrey!

Bubbles!

This week Audrey has learned how to blow bubbles! She also finds it quite funny to blow bubbles while Mommy is feeding her. Mommy doesn't find it quite as funny when she is catapulted with carrot bubbles but it makes Audrey laugh. She has also started smacking her lips this week. She sticks her tongue out and smacks her lips over and over. It is quite funny to watch!

Mother's Day

Audrey and Mommy had their first Mother's Day together this year! We ate lunch with all the Mommies and Mommy had a cake and a beautiful orchid from Bubba! The first of many Mother's Days to come!

Beach Trip

Audrey made her first beach trip with Mommy, Daddy, and Aunt Jeanna. She loved the indoor pool and smiled when Daddy bounced her in the water. She even kicked her feet like she was trying to swim. As much as Audrey loves water, I believe she is going to be a little water bug. We took Audrey to the beach and she took a nap on Daddy's raft under the umbrella. She wasn't amazed with the sand, but she liked to feel the waves hitting her feet!

Four Months

At four months Audrey started laughing. That is truly the sweetest sound. She has also learned that she can suck her toes. She rolled over for the first time from her stomach to her back. She can get halfway from her back to her stomach. She likes playing peek a boo and has become very attached to her "banky" when it's time to go to sleep. She is sleeping all night sometimes and gets up once sometimes. She likes to sit in her swing in front of the t.v. and watch "Noggin". At her four month check up she weighed 16lbs and was 25 and a half inches long.

Play Date

Audrey had her first play date when she was three months old. Mommy's friend Donna has a baby boy who is EXACTLY one month older than Audrey. It was so funny to see them interacting with each other. One would jabber and the other would smile and jabber back. They were so cute playing together. Ethan was the first baby that ever talked back to Audrey and she was trilled...that darn mirror just doesn't talk back!

Auburn

Mommy and Daddy loaded up little Audrey and took her to Auburn to visit Mommy's friend Sarah and so that Daddy could get Audrey's picture with Aubie. Aubie did hold Audrey for a picture and she tried to eat him. Mommy is still hoping he didn't notice all of the slobber on his shirt. Daddy wanted to take his picture with Audrey in front of the Auburn sign at Samford. We took the picture and Mommy and Mrs. Jennifer (Sarah's mom) sang Yea Alabama while we did so :)

P.S. Roll Tide!

New Cousin!

In April Audrey got a new little cousin named Katy. Mommy and Daddy took Audrey to meet her new little cousin and as you can tell in the picture, Katy is a lot calmer than Audrey :). While we were there Daddy took Audrey outside for her first encounter with a horse. Audrey wasn't too enthused about the horse, however, as she was much more interested in taking a nap!

Smile :)

At three months, Audrey really began to smile. She started smiling when we walked into the room and when someone talked to her. Mommy was finally able to capture her adorable smile on camera. Seeing her smile is the best feeling in the world :)

The Easter Bunny!

Three month old Audrey got her first visit from the Easter Bunny! He brought her a blue polka dotted sun hat, a stuffed bunny named Audrey, and a chocolate bunny that Daddy could take care of :). Her MawMaw Luker got her another little bunny and she also got a beach picture frame for her first beach picture! Mommy, Daddy, and Aunt Thea took Audrey to have her picture made with the Easter Bunny, to which Audrey loudly objected. She wasn't sure about this yellow fuzz ball holding her. Finally, her attention was captured by the bright flowers around the Easter Bunny and we managed to get one picture where she wasn't screaming her head off.

Carrots, and Squash, and Peas, OH MY!

At three months our angel weighed in at 15lbs 2oz and 25in long. She had been eating baby cereal and fruit for about a month and began to eat with a spoon. Mommy and Big Momma took Audrey to get a brand new PINK high chair. Peaches were her first adventure with the spoon and for her first time she did quite well. It only took Mommy one bib and two rags to clean her up :). We soon discovered that Audrey loves squash and carrots; especially carrots. Not only does she eat carrots like candy, but she drinks carrot juice as well. She also enjoys peas, green beans, sweet potatoes, and so far every fruit that she's tried. She's a good little eater and constantly wants something in her mouth. Passies just aren't her thing though. She wants something with some substance. Audrey seemed to be much more satisfied when she started eating big girl food and has become a pro at this whole spoon thing!

Two Months Old

At two months, Audrey weighed in at 15lbs and 25in long. (Our BIG little girl) On the Monday that she turned eight weeks old, Audrey smiled her first "big smile" and officially made Mommy's day! She started trying to suck her thumbs, but instead ended up sucking her right index and middle finger which has become a habit of hers. She also began to attempt to suck her entire fists (both at the same time!). We took Audrey's Easter pictures when she was two months and discovered she's a ham! (Which is a good thing b/c Mommy and Big Momma love taking her picture!)

One Month Old

At Audrey's one month check-up she weighed in at a whopping 12lbs 4oz. Our little girl wasn't quite so little anymore! It was unreal how fast she began to grow. It was a race for Audrey to be able to wear all of her little outfits as she was outgrowing them every week or two. At 24 inches long, all of her clothes with the adorable little footies just weren't cutting it very much anymore. She became more alert and began to turn and look when she heard someone talking. She was already growing so fast!

First Valentine's Day

Audrey had her first Valentine's Day when she was 5 weeks old. Mommy and Daddy got her a big pink bear, and a frog with hearts that ribbits. (She's not spoiled AT ALL) Valentine's Day didn't seem to phase Audrey though. She slept through the gifts and ALL the pictures as you can see!

Audrey's First Road Trip

When Audrey was one month old we took her on her first road trip to Ft. Payne, Alabama to see her MawMaw and PawPaw Norris. The trip was a four hour ride and Audrey slept the entire trip. We learned then that she is a very good traveller and so far she hasn't changed in that aspect. Being February, it was cold up in north Alabama so she stayed inside that weekend, but I don't think her great grandparents minded that one bit. Audrey's first road trip was a very successful trip and gave Brent and I faith that we could travel with her because the car does seem to rock her to sleep :)

Meet Audrey

As most of you know, Audrey came into this world on January 5, 2009 at 2:59 p.m. She weighed 7lbs 9oz and was 21 and a half inches long. Her daddy took her to the nursery for her first bath where I am told her Aunt Thea already wanted to hold her :). Audrey spent the night with Mommy and Daddy both nights in the hospital because the nursery had too many babies! Daddy was very tired taking care of Mommy and baby Audrey. Daddy changed his first diaper and was put to the test when she made a diaper and spit up everywhere all while he was trying to help Mommy. Audrey did a wonderful job of breaking him in. We had many visitors in the hospital and we appreciated them all very much! The love and support we felt was almost overwhelming at times. We are so blessed to be surrounded by such a wonderful bunch of family and friends. We brought Audrey home on January 7th and I believe Brent would agree that after a few days of up all nights in a hospital, there truly is no place like home. Audrey fit right in and didn't seem to mind being passed around as her family took turns holding our little blessing. She didn't seem so terribly tiny at the time, but now it is hard to even remember her being that small....time flies by and it seems like just yesterday we were waking up every 3 hours to feed her. Before we knew it little Audrey was a week old!

Newbie

I'm new at this so bear with me, but I am going to try to keep up a blog to keep everyone up to date with Audrey and what she is up to; sort of an online scrapbook. I am going to start back at day one and try to catch up to the big girl she is now. I will attempt to update it as frequently as Audrey allows me to. We love you all and hope you enjoy watching Audrey grow up as much as we do!
